In Memoriam of Professor Dr Zarina binti Abdul Latiff

Prof Zarina had been an important figure in the world of Paediatric Haematology & Oncology. She was a unique individual who contributed significantly, not only to the field of Thalassaemia / Haematology but also to the world of Paediatric Oncology. Although she was a Geneticist by profession, she never shied away from the many Paediatric Oncology meetings organised by MASPHO. In fact, she was the organising chair of the MASPHO ASM in 2014 which carried a theme on Acute Leukemia. Despite being diagnosed with cancer soon after the MASPHO ASM in 2014, she continued on her duties as a clinician. Prof Zarina was an elegant lady in all aspects of the word. She was always elegantly dressed, soft spoken and well-mannered. She will always be remembered as a true lady.

We will miss you dearly, as would your patients, your family, friends and many colleagues.

May you rest in peace. May your soul be placed amongst the righteous.
